                           2 Timothy 2:15

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. KJV

Endeavor to present yourself approved to God, an unashamed worker, cutting straight the word of truth." Greek translation

Growing in Grace  Ministry began in November 2001 with the desire to equip individuals with the ability to  properly interpret  the Bible.   We strive to teach the proper manner in which to handle the scriptures.  Proper Bible interpretation should be based upon proper bible exegesis, this is accomplished by examining the scripture in light of it's grammar, context and historical aspects.  To obtain the most concise meaning of a passage utilization of the Greek manuscripts is often helpful.   We have found our foundational  scripture 2 Timothy 2:15 to be the key to unlocking any seemingly non-congruent verses.    God being sovereign and immutable,  does not change, however, instructions and  the manner in which He has dealt with mankind throughout the ages has changed. Taking instructions given for previous or future dispensations (administrations) and attempting to apply them to the present dispensation of Grace, will lead to errors and misunderstanding of the Word of God. It is imperative that the  Word of God be properly divided according to dispensations or administrations, which are governed by various covenants or agreements If this rule of right division is ignored the Bible can appear to contradict itself, which of course is impossible.  Genesis through Revelation unfolds  the  redemptive plan of salvation, granted through the sacrificial blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.  God has revealed this plan through progressive revelation, for although we were given a glimpse of the cross work in the writings of the prophets of the Old Testament, the full ramification of  what Christ accomplished  on our behalf was not revealed until the writings of the Apostle Paul.  It is  through the special revelation given unto Him, that we are able to distinguish what belongs in the past, what is current and what will be in the future. The entire bible is for us (2 Timothy 3:16), however  only a portion (the epistles of Paul; Romans through Philemon) is written and relevant  to us (the body of Christ  today).  The wonderful message of Jesus Christ was made manifest  through  2  distinct gospels.   The preaching of Jesus Christ revealed through the prophets was  according to Prophecy and pertains to Israel (Acts3:12-26).  Whereas, the preaching of Jesus Christ revealed to apostle Paul was according to the Mystery, and pertains to the Body of Christ (Romans 16:25; Galatians 2:7-9),see the study Distinguishing the Gospel Messages
